West Florin Representative Payee Service & Nordhus Inc. was founded by Barbara Nord in 1997.
In the early years Barbara and her staff focused primarily on offering Representative Payee and Benefits management services, but as time went on they identified a real need for housing security with the more vulnerable of their clientele. Consequently the WFRPSN team made it a priority to assemble housing resources and to assist their clients through the housing process to help them attain long term housing stability. Twenty Four years later they are still consistently working to responsibly manage the benefits of their clients while improving their overall quality of life and well being.
What is a Representative Payee?
A representative payee is an organization or individual who is designated to manage the Social Security and/or SSI benefits for someone who is unable to do themselves. The representative payee must apply the individuals benefits towards their monthly bills and their current needs such as housing, clothing, food, recreation and other incidental expenses.
Who needs a Representative Payee?
The law mandates certain individuals to have a representative payee.
Disabled adults who have been determined by SSA to be incapable and who SSA has determined to have a (DAA) drug addiction or alcohol condition.
Minors under the age of 15.
Legally incompetent adults.
